  Parking for guests is a hassle. The check-in always (over the last five years) says there is no parking available. When we actually drive into the parking garage, it seems there are plenty of parking spots. So, other than Whiskey Jack simply wanting to fleece everyone for $35 CND parking fees/cay, I don't know why they even bother to state that extra parking is available.

  Locals also indicate that as many of 15% of local residents are planning to leave Whistler because of the adverse changes Vail Corporation is introducing. Local businesses also report that Vail Corporation is not honoring the bonus structure that was promised prior to the acquisition.

  I personally received many complaints from locals regarding this transition for the worse. Rentals no longer receive discounts for more days rented. Edge cards can no longer be loaded by single days. The new EpicMix mobile application is a horrible replacement for the original WhistlerSki application. There are so many problems with this mobile App that it seriously is not worth even using.

  Maintenance staff are great and work really hard. They are usually locals that are looking for extra income to offset the increase in living costs due to the gentrification that is occurring and from the acquisition of Whistler from Canadian owners to Vail Corportaion, a US owner.

  However, the rooms were well cleaned prior to our arrival. One notable issue: The power cord from the TV to the wall was under stress and definitely NOT to fire code!

  All in all, after 10+ years of coming up to Whistler to ski, we are seriously considering termination of our timeshare due to the above mentioned changes. We are not interested in going to a resort location that ignores the needs to the local population in order to maximize corporate profits!

  This area in Whistler is open with lots of stores and resteraunts. A cool childrens playground nearby. A happy place.

  In the lower heart of Whistler Village, the Town Plaza are an older accommodation. The elevator is one of the slowest in the village and can definitely add to aggravation on move-in / move-out.

  Good free wi-fi in the plaza outside longhorn saloon. Quite busy with skiers at the start and end of the day.
